Affinity First Federal Credit Union teams up with Burdick Job Corps

Affinity First Federal Credit Union is teaming up with the Burdick Job Corps and announcing plans for the opening of a new student run credit union branch on the Job Corps campus starting November 26 2007.

The Affinity First Federal Credit Union Burdick Job Corps Branch, as it will be known, is a unique opportunity for Affinity First Federal Credit Union to educate and assist local Job Corps students and is an extension of the credit union philosophy of people helping people.

This new approach allows some students an alternative opportunity to get training for a job that might not have seemed a possibility for them before, a career in a financial institution.

This program will be a unique way for students to gain an insiders view of the workings of the financial services industry.  This training provides the student with a sense of pride that he or she is a professional.  As they develop new job skills they in turn improve their own self esteem.

The Burdick Job Corps Branch program is designed to function as a partnership between the community and Affinity First Federal Credit Union, working together for the benefit of our students today who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
